Hilary Schwartz is an artist engaged with concepts of domesticity, displacement, temporality, and queer desire. She received her MFA from San Francisco Art Institute and her BFA from California College of the Arts. She has exhibited internationally. Her work has been seen in Chan Hampe Gallery in Singapore; OUTsider Film and Arts Festival in Austin, Texas; The Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore; EFFPortland in Portland, Oregon; Rimbun Dahan Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Sabanci Gallery in Istanbul, Turkey. Hilary’s work has been featured in The Substation's quarterly publication, Issue and online on KQED, Art Practical, and SFGate. She was a lecturer at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore from 2011 to 2016. She has also given lectures and workshops at The University of Exeter in the UK and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. Hilary collaborated on a series of videos with Marcia Ong, and the two completed a residency at Rimbun Dahan in Penang, Malaysia. Hilary is now traveling and working on a series of videos, performances and research on queer space and utopic potential.
